My parents have always wanted me to find my perfect man and they are not afraid to tell me. My mother is always trying to set me up with her friends’ sons, from her yoga teacher's twenty-five year old bachelor to her Optometrist's recently divorced son. Online dating is no help either. Trying to communicate with the guys I meet on the apps is like talking to my zayde. Plus the apps don't make it any easier. JDate, JSwipe, Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, etc., makes it hard to manage all the connections that I am trying to make.

The only safety net I have in this horror movie of a dating life is my friends. They are the first ones to pick me up after a disaster date or warn me which boyfriends are real shmendriks. I just want a nice Jewish boy, is that too much to ask for these days? I’m not even picky. Don’t give me the honeymoon period. Just give me the husband and kids, a picket fence, and maybe a cat and dog (one that doesn’t shed, of course).

That is why I turned to Yenta. I knew finding an NJB myself would be my own mission that I needed to accomplish. So why not let my friends do all the heavy lifting by swatting away all the heartbreaks and terrible first dates. After a couple of different matches it finally happened, I found him. He has a name by the way, it's Benjamin (but I call him Benji). We matched about 8 months ago and things could not be better. My friends love him, my mother loves him, and I think I might too. My father thinks he’s alright (he doesn’t like anyone) though tbh.

Finding love seemed impossible but I am thankful that Yenta came along. I mean you would not believe some of the encounters I have been on. One Israeli (that I will not name out of respect) decided to bring me to his father's restaurant and then proceeded to play Pokemon on his phone the entire time. I mean if I am being honest I am so glad people like Jake (whoops) are not on this app. It is truly something meant for people looking for long lasting relationships that rest on a foundation of loyalty, trust, communication, and intimacy. I urge you, download the app now and find your Yenta!
